PLANT-BASED ICED MATCHA LATTE
I love making homemade iced beverages on the weekend. Just like hot matcha latte, iced matcha latte has several health benefits. Matcha contains antioxidants and caffeine, which can help boost metabolism and energy levels. It is also a good source of L-theanine, an amino acid that can promote relaxation and reduce stress. Additionally, it's a great refreshing drink on a hot day that can help cool you down and provide hydration. Making this drink plant-based can also make it a healthier and more sustainable option. We created a recipe for a refreshing plant-based iced matcha latte that is perfect for the weekend:
Ingredients:
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tbsp hot water
1 cup plant-based milk (such as almond, soy, or oat milk)
1-2 tsp agave syrup or honey
Ice cubes
Whipped coconut cream (optional)
Instructions:
In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water until the matcha is fully dissolved.
In a glass or a mason jar, add ice cubes to fill about 1/3 of the glass.
Pour the plant-based milk over the ice cubes, leaving some space at the top for the matcha mixture.
Add the matcha mixture and agave syrup (or honey) to the milk and stir to combine.
Top with whipped coconut cream (if using).
Overall, iced matcha latte is a delicious and refreshing drink that also has several health benefits.
