HOMEMADE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY TEA
We created a recipe for an anti-inflammatory loose leaf tea that incorporates turmeric, which is known for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as potential benefits to mental health. Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can help alleviate symptoms associated with inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, while chamomile, lavender, and rose petals are believed to have calming effects on the mind and body, potentially aiding in the management of anxiety and depression. As with any herbal remedy, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns or pre-existing conditions.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon ginger root, grated
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon dried chamomile flowers
1 teaspoon dried lavender flowers
1 teaspoon dried rose petals
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
2 cups of water
Instructions:
Begin by boiling 2 cups of water in a small pot.
While the water is boiling, mix the turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon together in a small bowl.
Once the water has reached boiling point, add in the turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon mixture, as well as the chamomile flowers, lavender flowers, and rose petals.
Reduce the heat to a simmer, and let the mixture steep for 5-10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
After steeping, strain the tea into a mug or teapot.
If desired, add a teaspoon of honey for sweetness.
Enjoy your anti-inflammatory loose leaf tea with the added benefits of turmeric and a relaxing blend of chamomile, lavender, and rose petals.
